Photos of BSC Visiting Professors and Hinche Scholars

October 29, 2010

BSC Profs and Hinche Scholars hard at work!

A picture is worth a thousand words, well that’s what they say anyway. Unfortunately these pictures are a bit blurry, but they the best we have for the moment. Please share the message of our program with your friends, family and colleagues.

The Hinche Scholars are currently taking a four week intensive ESL course with BSC faculty members Kenneth Simmons and Judith Cowan

Although they are not working under the most optimal cirucmstances (a rather small, warm, makeshift classroom, no multimedia, and a long school day 8am-5pm), the students are doing well and Professors Simmons and Cowan and providing great instruction and support.

Thanks to your donations, the Hinche Scholars project (a partnership of the I Have a Dream Foundation and Barber-Scotia College), has implemented the first phase of our project – ESL instruction in Haiti. Visa permitting, these displaced Haitian college students will recommence their full time studies next semester (spring 2011) in Concord, NC, at historic Barber-Scotia College (located near Charlotte).

Thank you for your continued support. If you’re interested in helping, please contact us or make a donation (info at right sidebar).
