Father Bourdeau in Richmond this weekend (10/15-10/18)

Haitian Priest Father Jean Navarre Bourdeau is coming to Richmond!

Hinche Scholars Project Co-Leader Pere Bourdeau will be here with us in Richmond, VA from Friday 10/15 until 10/18. Father Bourdeau is coming to meet with the St. Bridget-Cathedral twinning committee, as well as with IHAD project leaders.

We have a host of activities planned for Father Bourdeau, and we encourage you to join us for any or all of the following events. Come out to meet Father Bourdeau, a truly amazing man who has dedicated his life to selfless service. Learn more about our efforts to help students in Haiti’s Central Plateau as they work to continue their university education in the U.S.

  • Friday evening, October 15th – possible pizza dinner/ meet and greet with Father Bourdeau, location and time TBD.


  • Saturday, October 16 –  picnic at Maymont Park, come and join us as we take Pere Bourdeau on a visit through one of Richmond’s most beautiful public places. This may be followed by a scenic tour of Richmond. Please join us!


  • Saturday evening, October 16 – “Manje” – a casual dinner/gala from 6-10pm at 2605 Monument Avenue. For more info, please e-mail Terry Bullard at


  • Sunday morning, October 17 – Join us at church as Father Bourdeau leads us in worship – twice!

  • – Noon – St. Bridget’s Catholic Church

  • Sunday evening, October 17 – Family and Friends Cookout for Father B. at North Richmond home. (For more details, contact us)


  • Monday morning, October 18 – Father Bourdeau to visit St. Bridget’s Catholic School (Time TBD). If you can’t make any of the weekend events, be sure to swing by St. Bridget’s School (corner of Three Chopt and York roads) for an assembly and prayer service hosted by students and teachers
