Protestors in Hinche call for sustainable agriculture, education, sustainable reconstruction programs!

June 9, 2010

This picture sums up the situation quite well – thousands of peasant farmers in Hinche have recently taken to the streets to demand an agricultural policy which can be focused on domestic, sustainable practices.

Protestors calling for change in Hinche, Haiti!

“We are selling the country to the multinatinal corporations,” said one farmer – according to an article in Le Nouvelliste.

These demonstrations serve only to reinforce the necessity of our project and its mission: to invest in the future of Haiti by creating the Intellectual Infrastructure necessary for a sucessful recovery. The six Hinche scholars are pursuing studies and carrer paths which will allow them to help their country in countless ways upon returning home.
